Membership in EOA

There are three membership types. The most common is the $85 Active Professional Membership. Membership fees are valid for 12 months from the time of processing.

EOA has over 1,000 members in the ten-state region and is arguably the largest in the nation. Members are persons involved in the work of college access and success, are working in roles where their job responsibilities support TRIO or TRIO-eligible students, or professionals who support the work of college access and success. 

Membership Benefits

  • Professional Development and networking: members can attend the annual conference, Chapter conferences, webinars and drive-ins.
  • Emerging Leaders Institute: this competitive leadership program helps members enhance their leadership skills.
  • Scholarships: all members are encourage to help their students apply for EOA Foundation scholarship. Last year, EOAF awarded more than $30,000 to our students.
  • Research: EOA houses the Best Practices Clearinghouse which provides information on promising and best practices to improve success of low-income, first-generation, and historically underrepresented students.
  • Advocacy: With the help of the Council for Opportunity in Education (COE), most of EOA's Board of Directors advocate for underrepresented students annually in Washington, DC. Some funding may be available to help members and their alumni attend COE's Policy Seminar each March.
