Membership in EOA

There are three membership types. The most common is the $85 Active Professional Membership. Membership fees are valid for 12 months from the time of processing.

EOA has over 1,000 members in the ten-state region and is arguably the largest in the nation. Members are persons involved in the work of college access and success, are working in roles where their job responsibilities support TRIO or TRIO-eligible students, or professionals who support the work of college access and success.

Membership Benefits

Professional Development and networking: members can attend the annual conference, Chapter conferences, webinars and drive-ins.
Emerging Leaders Institute: this competitive leadership program helps members enhance their leadership skills.
Scholarships: all members are encourage to help their students apply for EOA Foundation scholarship. Last year, EOAF awarded more than $30,000 to our students.
Research: EOA houses the Best Practices Clearinghouse which provides information on promising and best practices to improve success of low-income, first-generation, and historically underrepresented students.
Advocacy: With the help of the Council for Opportunity in Education (COE), most of EOA's Board of Directors advocate for underrepresented students annually in Washington, DC. Some funding may be available to help members and their alumni attend COE's Policy Seminar each March.

Active Professional Membership - $85.00 (USD) Subscription period: 1 year No automatically recurring payments This membership is designated for (a) persons whose primary work (defined as 50% or more) is in the administration or general operation, inclusive of counseling and instruction, of educational opportunity programs and services, and (b) to professionals who serve in roles on campuses and in communities that indirectly promote education opportunity and the individuals served by such programs, e.g., financial aid professionals, instructors and advisors and other persons actively engaged in promoting educational opportunity programs and services whose primary work is in a related field of education that serves the goals and objectives of the Association. Active Professional Members are entitled to one vote and are eligible to hold office.

Affiliate Membership - $45.00 (USD) Subscription period: 1 year No automatically recurring payments This membership is designated for alumni, retirees, graduate students and others who support the purposes and objectives of the Association and have an interest in broadening accessibility to and success in formal postsecondary education, but are not engaged directly in educational opportunity programs and services. Affiliate Members are entitled to voice, but are not eligible to vote or hold office.

Organizational Membership - $125.00 (USD) Bundle (unlimited) Subscription period: 1 year No automatically recurring payments This is a for an organizational membership.
